The President has spoken further on the sack of Babahir Lawal and Ayo Oke over case of financial improprieties which has engulfed their offices.  President Muhammadu Buhari has faulted reports which claimed he had earlier declared that former Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, was not guilty of the corruption allegations leveled against him.   Buhari, speaking through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, stated this on Monday during his appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today.   “You didn’t get it right; the President had no time said anybody was not guilty. The immediate past president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, through his lawyer, Chief Mike Ozekhome, has filed a motion urging Justice Okon Abang to tell ex-PDP spokesman, Olisa Metuh to pay him N1billion court appearance fee and expenses.  Former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, Monday, prayed the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court to set aside the subpoena it issued to compel him to testify as a witness in the ongoing trial of former National Publicity Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh,  Vanguard  reports. Dr. Jonathan, in a motion he filed through his counsel, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), urged Justice Okon Abang to set aside the subpoena ad testifiandum he issued against him on October 23. Family, Friends Mourn as Teenage Girl Dies Leaving Behind Shocking Letter and Will (Photos)

A 16-year-old girl identified as Aisha Ibrahim Umar, who died on Friday, October 27, 2017 after a brief illness in Kaduna state, has left family and friends in deep sorrow and shocking state as she left a touching note behind. The news was made known to the world by her brother who shared the sad news on Facebook. Aisha wrote a heartfelt letter before her death. The letter which contained a message of forgiveness, condolence along with her will known as Wasiyya, was written by the teenager in Hausa before her death on Friday. In her letter, the teenager asked her parents to forgive her as she passed on other messages to families, relatives and teachers and schoolmates. Aisha in her letter also asked her relatives and teachers to stand on her grave to pray for her after she was buried. In a statement issued on Monday by SERAP deputy director, Timothy Adewale, the organisation has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to prosecute the sacked Babachir Lawal and Ayodele Oke .   Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has welcomed the decision by President Muhammadu Buhari to sack the suspended Secretary to Government of the Federation, Mr Babachir Lawal, and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Mr Ayodele Oke. Maina: EFCC Traces Six Million Pounds Pension Cash to Bank in the UK

Men of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have found a whopping 6 million pension cash in a United Kingdom bank.  Detectives have traced about £6m pension funds to a  United Kingdom bank  account  being managed by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation(OHCSF), The Nation has reported.    Two former Heads of the Civil Service of the Federation(Engr. E. Okeke and Prof. O. A. Afolabi) reportedly did their best to protect the funds from being tampered with.   The report by The Nation further revealed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) had seized more houses believed to be owned by the embattled ex- chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms Task Team, Mr. Abdulrasheed Abdullahi Maina. The Osun State Police Command have invited former deputy governor of Osun State, Iyiola Omisore, over an alleged attack on the late Senator Isiaka Adeleke in line to the governorship primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP ) in 2014. The late senator, who was a governorship candidate of the PDP shortly before the 2014 governorship election in Osun State had accused Omisore and a former Minister of State for Police Affairs, Jelili Adesiyan and one Sogo Agboola, of beating him up at a hotel where he had gone to meet officials of the PDP sent to conduct the primary. Adeleke, eventually defected to the All Progressives Congress ahead of the poll to assist Governor Rauf Aregbesola to win his second term while he (Adeleke) contested Osun West Senatorial Election and won. He, however, died on April 23, 2017. Despite the death of the complainant, the police last week sent an invitation to Omisore asking him to report to the Police Headquarters in Osogbo concerning the

There was a bit of unrest in Abisogun Leigh street of Lagos, where two lovers were found dead in a Toyota Corolla car parked by the roadside. The names of the deceased had yet to be revealed, they were said to have been respectively married. Whatsapp Messages Finally Get ‘Delete For Everyone’ Option

WhatsApp has started rolling out a new feature for users, allowing them to delete messages for everyone. So far,  WhatsApp users have only been able to delete their own copy of the message, but the message would still be visible in the recipient’s copy of the conversation. With the new feature to delete for everyone, the message will disappear from the recipient’s conversation as well, not just the sender’s. Rival messaging app  Viber  has been offering this option for a good while now and WhatsApp has been working on implementing it since last year. The feature is now ready to hit the public but the rollout is reportedly slow so it might take a while for all users to receive it. Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, has said she would sue any media platform or social blog that publishes an “edited video clip” set to be released by her ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill. The actress through her lawyer, Festus Keyamo said the “edited video clip” showed Tonto’s reaction to the physical abuse suffered from Churchill and not Churchill’s role in the drama. The statement from her lawyers threatened to sue publishers of the edited version as against the full version of the video that captured the whole fight. Dikeh said the video only portrayed her as being violent and not a victim of domestic violence as she had earlier claimed. President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday directed the immediate dismissal of Abdulrasheed Maina, a civil servant who went missing for years after being declared wanted for corruption, but was recently reinstated to a higher post. The president said the circumstances of Mr. Maina’s return to the civil service must be investigated. A statement by presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina, said Mr. Buhari had ordered “immediate disengagement of Mr Abdulrasheed Maina from service.” The president directed the Head of Service of the Federation, Winifred Oyo-Ita, to submit to the office of the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, before the end of work today, Monday, a report on the circumstances leading to Mr. Maina’s recall.
