The ban placed on the Indigenous People of Biafra has divided many people in the legal circle as to whether it is right in the eyes of the law or not. Many legal luminaries have differed on the ban by a court in Abuja over the activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra, which also classified the agitators as a terrorist organisation. The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN), had, on Wednesday, on behalf of the Federal Government, obtained an interim order proscribing IPOB and declaring the secessionist group as a terrorist organisation. The order was granted by the acting Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Abdu Kafarati, in chambers. The president who was officially accompanied to the airport by the Permanent Representative of Nigeria to the United Nations, Prof Tijjani Bande, departed the John F Kennedy International Airport at 10:00a.m. Meanwhile, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, says President Muhammadu Buhari will spend only four days in London after which he will return to Nigeria, though he did not state the reason for Buhari’s visit to the UK. Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, Itse Sagay, has described the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as a failure. Sagay, who made the declaration also maintained that the leadership style of the party is “lily-livered” and weak. President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Nasir El-Rufai in 2019 have both been endorsed by the All Progressives Congress in Kaduna State for re-elections. This was made known at a stakeholders’ meeting with party leaders from the 255 electoral wards of the state on Saturday at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Hall, Kaduna. Those present at the meeting were, Governor El-Rufai, one of the two senators of the APC from the state, members of the House of Representatives and the State House of Assembly, and political appointees at both federal and state levels. An audio of a conversation purportedly between Mamman Daura, a cousin of President Muhammadu Buhari and one of his closest supporters, and Mamman Tukur, a perceived member of his cabal, has been obtained. Pesident Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday arrived his home town, Daura, for the Eid -El-Kabir celebrations. Governor Aminu Masari led top government officials including the Secretary to the state government, Dr.Mustapha Inuwa, to receive President Buhari  at the Umar Musa Yar’adua International Airport  on his way to Daura. The Emir of Katsina, Dr.Kabir Abdulmumin, was also at the Airport to welcome the President. The Presidential jet that brought Buhari to katsina touched down at the tarmac of the Airport at 4:06pm. The Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi state has described as an aberration, the public holiday declared by the government in honour of the return of President Mohammadu Buhari. The party in a statement by the Director Research and Documentation, Achadu Dicson, lamented that while it is an acknowledged fact that governance in the state had drifted in the last 17 months, declaring a public holiday in the state is the height of lack and loss of ideas.
