WhatsApp  has added a new feature that makes the process of changing your phone number a little less stressful. With the touch of a button, you can tell all of your contacts what your new number is, saving you from the hassle of messaging them all individually. If you don’t want all of them to know your new number, you can instead choose to only notify the people you’ve been having conversations with, or a custom list of hand-picked contacts. All of your group chats, meanwhile, will be notified of your number change automatically. The feature was spotted by  WABetaInfo , which says it’s enabled by default in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android. WhatsApp has updated its Status feature to allow users to just post text-based updates for their friends to see. Instead of having a photo or video as your status, you can now just type text or insert a URL. Users will be able to customize the color of the font and the background. WhatsApp Status was originally a feature where users only had text based status messages that would be visible next to their names in the contacts list. After Facebook caught the Snapchat Story bug and decided to add stories to everything, the humble WhatsApp Status feature was upgraded to have Instagram (or rather Snapchat) style stories where users could upload images or videos for their friends to see. You can say the feature has now come full circle, eventually letting users to share text again like they used to but in a different way. Popular instant messenger platform Whatsapp just released an update that allows for file sharing of all types including AVI, MP3, APK files etc. But the Facebook owned company limited the file sharing size to 100MB. With this feature Android applications, rich video types and other relevant types of documents can be sent using the platform. The update is available for both Android and iOS platform. This is a welcome development for instant file sharing on the go. A couple of other features have been rolled out as well. This includes swiping up from the in-app camera to see photos and videos from gallery, sending multiple pics as albums, and easier text formatting. WhatsApp now groups multiple photos as album. This means, when you send five or more photos, they will now appear in an album, instead of one below another.
