The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain made the remark while citing a report from Amnesty International. Amnesty International in one of its report claimed that hundreds of Nigerians were being held in secret detention centers across the country. The Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, Zaki Ahmed has revealed that abducted pastor from Edoha community in Ahoada East LGA of Rivers State, Samuel Okpara, has been killed and his body parts used to prepare pepper soup. This was made known by the Commissioner while parading 25 suspects arrested for criminal activities across the state in Port Harcourt. The Rivers police boss disclosed that Okpara was abducted by a notorious kidnap gang in Edoha on August 15, 2017, killed and beheaded, adding that his liver and intestines were used to prepare pepper soup and plantain porridge by his abductors. Ahmed revealed that in the course of an onslaught against kidnapping by men of the anti-kidnapping unit (AKU), one Roland Peter, a member of the kidnap gang was arrested. A 21-day ultimatum has been given to both the Federal government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU by the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS to end the ongoing  strike. The association warned that students would shut down the country if the government fails to resolve the issues and end the strike within the stipulated time. A statement issued by the National President of NANS, Chinonso Obasi on Tuesday called on government and ASUU to have “constructive engagement” to resolve the lingering issues that led to the declaration of the strike. The Cross River State Police Command on Tuesday paraded a suspected fake pastor in the state. The suspect, who was paraded alongside six others, was said to have been arrested for allegedly killing a one year and six months old baby… The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Obo-Ekpenyog is the pastor of Royal God’s Commandment Ministry, Calabar. Parading the suspect, the spokesperson of the command, ASP Irene Ugbo, said that the suspect was arrested alongside six others on Aug. 24 by men of the command. Irene said that they were arrested when the parents of the deceased raised an alarm that their child had been abducted by some masked men who stormed their house. She said some operatives were immediately deployed to search the church and its environs, and that they found some incriminating items and arrested the pastor and six others.
