What actors have to say on Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen sex scene in Game of Thrones

The series finale saw Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen have sex aboard a ship as they set sail for the North and battle against the army of the dead.

However, unbeknown to both characters was the fact they are both related, with Daenerys in fact Jon’s aunt.

In a new behind the scenes special released by HBO, Clarke said: “For us, as actors, it’s just weird. The reality of what they are to each other, I don’t know how that’s going to ... I think [gags] might be the reaction.”

Harrington added: “I think they both know it’s wrong. I think they both know it’s going to cause problems. But it’s that thing, when you suddenly feel that deeply about someone and you go through those events together, it’s like a runaway train. You can’t stop it from happening.”

Peter Dinklage, who plays Tyrion Lannister — Daenerys’ hand and voice of reason, witnessed Jon enter his queen’s room.

He added: “It’s dangerous for everybody involved. I’m sure it’s good for both of them in the moment, but you don’t even get the relief of how beautiful it could be or should be. It’s, ‘Oh. Just, it’s not good.’ It should be, but it’s not. It’s Game of Thrones. There’s a long history of romance not ending well on this show.”

In the season finale Sam Tarly and Bran Stark revealed that Jon is indeed the son of Lyanna Stark and Daenerys’ brother Rhaegar, nephew and aunt were getting naked on a ship en route north.

Isaac Hempstead-Wright, who plays Bran in the series, admitted he’s concerned about the ramifications of the revelation.

“This whole thing that started off Game of Thrones, the King’s Rebellion, was a total lie,” he said. “It’s kind of like, mad, and what’s going to be interesting is for Bran, it’s like, ‘What am I going to do with this?’ because just as everything was coming together, everyone is coming together to fight, inevitably Game of Thrones will tear us apart.”

Of course, Jon and the Mother Of Dragons were still blissfully unaware of the true nature of their family connection when Jon knocked on her cabin door after their summit with Cersei.

The HBO show is no stranger to pushing the boundaries of family relationships with Cersei and her twin brother Jaime lovers since the first episode.
