World Championship 2017: Gatlin Stuns Bolt in 100m final

Justin Gatlin stunned world’s fastest man Usain Bolt to win his second 100m gold medal at the World Athletics Championship 2017, 12 years after his first.

Spirited Gatlin, who was banned twice for doping, was booed on Saturday evening by fans before the race.

He, however, focused on the track with a determination to ruin the eight-time Olympic champion’s final individual race.

Bolt, who retires after next week’s 4x100m relay, was third behind American Gatlin, who clocked 9.92 seconds, and Christian Coleman (9.94).

The Jamaican’s 9.95 seconds equalled his best effort of 2017 but he always trailed.
