President salaries: These are the best paid African Presidents 2017/10/04

Tanzanian President John Magufuli on Tuesday announced how much he earns per month as head of state.

Speaking on live TV programme, the outspoken President said his monthly salary was 9 million Tanzanian shillings ($4,000).

His salary may well be a stark contrast of what his fellow counterparts take home monthly given that African Presidents are among the most paid in the world.

We looked at some of the highest paid African heads-of-state and came up with the following list:
